Two new Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4163 8×6/4s for heavy-lift transports are joining the fleet of the family-owned company Felbermayr. The company specialising in transport, lifting technology and construction, will send the two trucks with heavy-lift special transports across Europe: each of the two Arocs SLTs can put up to 250 tonnes of total weight on the road.
The basis of the Arocs SLT was produced at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth and completed in Molsheim. The robust heavy-lift trucks have a gross vehicle weight of 250 tonnes. Up to 1000 tonnes of transport load can be moved in combination with other vehicles.
The steel-sprung Arocs SLT are powered by the in-line six-cylinder OM 473. 15.6 l displacement, a maximum of 460 kW (625 hp) and a 16-speed gearbox with PowerShift 3 automatic gearshift are the features of the BlueTec 6 engine.
Felbermayr was founded in 1942 and started with a single truck for local transport. Today, the international transport, lifting technology and construction company has 26 subsidiaries at 68 locations in 18 European countries.
The two Arocs SLTs will be used for the transport of industrial equipment, power plant components and others.
