Elsen expands its capacities for Siemens

Elsen Logistik GmbH from Wittlich increases its operations on behalf of Siemens AG. Therefore, the company acquired a plant including a 18,000 m² warehouse and a 16-tonnes crane in Nuremberg.

“In addition to high-quality equipment, the easy access to the four major motorways A3, A6, A9 and A73 is a benefit of this location. Moreover the plant is ideally located between the high-volume markets of Western Europe and the production markets in the east,” explains Ralf Sauerborn, Managing Director and Vice President Logistics Operations of Elsen Logistik GmbH.

The 170 x 100-meters large, and 12 meters high hall can store anything from a screw to the entire food range. A warehouse with 15,000 parking spaces and a cantilever rack with 500 positions, as well as a 2,000 m² small parts storage are available.

Loading and unloading is effected with 10 bays. There is also the possibility of side discharge in a covered outdoor area, so that even sensitive products are protected at any time.

Particularly heavy or bulky goods can be moved by an overhead crane with a lifting capacity of 16 tonnes. The crane has a track width of 11 meters and is suitable for both, indoor and outdoor use.
