Alfred Schuon investing in Hungary

The Alfred Schuon group is expanding its business in Hungary. Therefore the forwarding company has acquired a 60,000 m² plot in Kecskemét recently. The area is located in the immediate vicinity of a premium automobile manufacturer and longtime customer of Schuon.

Earlier this year, the company added new special vehicles of Kamag to its fleet in Hungary for this customer. This additional investment of EUR 225,000 shows clearly the commitment of the logistics company to grow on a permanent basis in Hungary.

Also Mercedes-Benz is planning to build a second plant with highly flexible production in Kecskemét, as Daimler announced at the end of July 2016 in a press release. In the next few years, about one billion euros shall be invested there. Established in 2012, the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét has produced more than 500,000 vehicles since then.

Schuon has had a branch office in Veszprém, Hungary since 1998. “The purchase of the property is part of our strategy. Together with our partner we want to grow locally,” explains Alexander Schuon, CEO of Alfred Schuon GmbH. The construction shall start as soon as the exact utilization plan is drawn up and the necessary permits are granted.
