On June 9, 2016, the “Cross Border Award“ was awarded for the 8th time at the 12th “Forum Mittelstand Grenzenlos“ (FMG) in Aldersbach in Lower Bavaria. This award is given to Austrian and German companies that excel in the social, ecological and economic expertise. Three companies were selected by the jury as the winners from more than 50 participants – one of which is the Schlager GmbH from Saxen in the District of Perg in Mühlviertel (Upper Austria).
For the jury, the focus on meeting customer needs and the pursuit of sustainable and social management were decisive for awarding Schlager GmbH, which specializes in the logistics of print media and factory traffic acquisitions.
Among other things, it was the strong customer focus in terms of logistics services, the activities for the environmentally friendly operation of the fleet of trucks, road safety education for children in the “Schlager Traffic Park“ and the variegated truck covers of the fleet, designed by artists of the Lebenshilfe association, that made the transportation logistics specialist so convincing.
Managing Director Hubert Schlager addressed theses points in his acceptance speech and emphasized the necessity of social commitment beyond company borders.
Further award winners were J. Grabner GmbH from Roitham (Austria) and Dimetria-VdK GmbH from Straubing (Germany).
