Also during the World Cup season of 2015/16, DB Schenker Logistics will provide logistics support the Austria Ski Team. The deliveries to the Wold Cup races in Aspen (USA) and Lake Louise (Canada) (28 and 29 of
November) were completed punctually and also the next transportation is ready to start.
Since the start of this year DB Schenker has transported equipment of a total volume of 60 tonnes on behalf of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) from the site in Kufstein, Tyrol, to the Ski World Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek and the overseas trainings in New Zealand and Chile.
Another 35 tonnes are to follow before the end of this year. This means in 2015 more than 3,500 single packages such as cases for skis, slalom poles, workbenches or ergometers will be shipped for the ÖSV stars.
A particular emphasis in this project is on delivery of the equipment exact to the hour, to the respective hotel and ski rooms, as well as a smooth customs clearance. “The athlethes and trainers do not have to worry about the transport of the equipment, but will be able to fully concentrate on their tasks and performance“, says Armin Kopp, DB Schenker in Kufstein.
Also ÖSV Athletic Director Hans Pum is satisfied with the many years of cooperation. “Thanks to the reliable support from DB Schenker, our athletes can concentrate fully on their training preparation and contests throughout the year,” says Pum.
