DHL Supply Chain will gradually integrate the logistics for the Seidensticker Group’s post-order, e-commerce and never-out-of-stocks (NOS) businesses into the multi-user DHL branch in Mönchengladbach by the end of October. Initially, the logistics will be handled on an area of approximately 6,000 m², the company announces in a press release.
“We are pleased about this agreement with Seidensticker, the most famous brand of shirts here in Germany. We are aware that by handling 1.5 to 2 million parts per year, we assume a high degree of responsibility and form the heart of Seidensticker’s logistics,” said Karsten Schwarz, CEO Germany & Alps DHL, Supply Chain.
Frank Marquard, responsible for the Business Unit Germany West and also responsible for Retail & eCommerce at DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps, adds that the high level of competence and experience in the Mönchengladbach branch as well as the excellent technical prerequisites meets all requirements of Seidensticker.
Dr. Horst Gersmeyer, Global Supply Chain Manager at Seidensticker Group, describes DHL as the world’s leading fulfillment service provider “who knows the challenges of our industry”. With this partner, the shirt brand can run “warehousing, shipping, returns management and value-added services smoothly and efficiently,” he explains the decision for the cooperation.
The Mönchengladbach branch is located in the Regiopark industrial area, which is one of the most important hubs of international fashion and consumer goods logistics in Europe. The location benefits from the transport links to motorways, the rail network and the easy accessibility of the seaports of Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
