ACS Logistics carries “Thoroughbred Arabians” to Linz

On the occasion of the Austrian international open ECAHO championship for Arabian sport horses in Wiener Neustadt, some show horses from Abu Dhabi arrived at the Linz airport on 19 May. The 7 thoroughbred Arabians from the W’RSAN Stables stud farm travelled with Etihad Cargo using a Boeing 747-400 from Abu Dhabi to Linz. From the airport they were transported to Wiener Neustadt, where the International Arabian Horse Championship will take place from 27 to 29 May 2016. The return flight for the horses is scheduled for 31 May 2016.

The transport was organised by ACS Logistics in cooperation with Equitrans Logistics (Abu Dhabi) and the cargo specialists of the Linz airport. ACS Logistics GmbH & Co KG based at the Linz airport was established in 2011, and is an independent, regional specialist for global airfreight, seafreight, integrated logistics and customised information logistics. Also last year, the company organised the transport of the horses from Abu Dhabi on behalf of the W’RSAN Stables stud farm.

Airfreight is the second major pillar of the blue danube airport linz. In 2015 they handled about 46,000 tonnes in Air Cargo. This makes blue danube airport linz Austri’s biggest regional cargo airport. Its modern Air Cargo Center composed of five cargo terminals serves to provide all air freight related services together with partners.

Linz airport is Austria’s only airport where living hoofed animals can be imported and exported. Therefore the Air Cargo Center is equipped with a veterinary border control station and required stables.
