Wolfgang Schiemann moves to the top of SWOP – Seaworthy Packing

Wolfgang Schiemann has been Managing Director of SWOP – Seaworthy Packing GmbH, a member of the Eurogate Group, since April 1, 2019. He succeeds Max Schultz, who left the company at the end of May 2019.

Michael Blach, Chairman of the group’s Management Board, says: “With Wolfgang Schiemann, one of the most experienced managers of the Eurogate Group has taken the lead at SWOP. With all his knowledge of our industry and our company, he has helped SWOP from day one to continue the successful development of recent years and to continuously develop the company.”  

Wolfgang Schiemann has worked for Eurogate and its predecessor for almost 30 years. In 1990 he started working at Euro-Kai a.A., from 1994 at the Eurokai Container Terminal KG a.A.. From January 2000 to June 2004 he headed the Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg. From July of the same year until the end of 2016, he held the position of Managing Director of the Eurogate Container Terminal Bremerhaven.

From January 2017 until the end of 2018, he returned to the Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg as Managing Director. Since January 2019, he has been advising the management board of Eurogate GmbH & Co. KGaA, KG in addition to his role at SWOP. Apart from that, Wolfgang Schiemann continues to serve as Managing Director of Eurokombi Terminal GmbH
