Satisfactory container handling in the port of Linz

In the 2016 financial year (October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016) the port of Linz achieved a satisfactory result, with container throughput of 223,935 TEU. Total land throughput in the port of Linz was 2,13 million tonnes, which is about the same level as in the previous year. The commercial port saw an increase by 7 percent over the previous year, to 431,866 tonnes. These figures were announced by DI Erich Haider, General Manager Linz AG at the presentation of the annual report by the end of January.

The rental business unit was also working very well for the port of Linz. Apart from a few offices, all properties are leased. The development of the company Österreichische Donaulager in the 2016 financial year is also very pleasing. The deep freeze warehouses were very well utilised, and also utilisation of the hazardous goods storage has improved over the previous year.

Port throughput figures in financial year 2016:

Container terminal 223,935 TEU

Waterborne throughput 700,124 tonnes

Landside throughput 2,126,880 tonnes

Frozen and refrigerated goods 111,223 pallets

Hazardous materials / WHC-warehouse 157,468 pallets

Ambient warehouse 117,293 pallets
