„DB Schenker presently is the only company which offers a block-train solution in both directions for containers on this route”, Mag. Alexander Winter, boardmember of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeast Europe says and adds: “With this new train connection we can not only offer a time reduction of more than a week, but also reduce C02 emissions by about 24 per cent.” The new connection not only saves a lot of costs compared to the conventional searoute via the northern ports but also reduces to amount of C02 by about 20 tons per course with 40 containers compared to the previous route.
