„Istra-Express“ between Enns and Koper reduces runtime ex Asia by 10 days

As one of the first companies, the Lenzing AG uses this train solution: “The new container train connection to Koper saves us valuable transport time and especially costs – we welcome this development and our customers also benefit from it”, says Ralf Hammer, global transport manager with the Lenzing AG.
„DB Schenker presently is the only company which offers a block-train solution in both directions for containers on this route”, Mag. Alexander Winter, boardmember of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeast Europe says and adds: “With this new train connection we can not only offer a time reduction of more than a week, but also reduce C02 emissions by about 24 per cent.” The new connection not only saves a lot of costs compared to the conventional searoute via the northern ports but also reduces to amount of C02 by about 20 tons per course with 40 containers compared to the previous route.
