cargo-partner makes procurement more transparent

Lack of transparency in procurement results in a high communication and administration effort and thus to additional costs. To counteract these challenges, cargo-partner has introduced a Purchase Order Management Service, which helps the logistics service provider to offer its customers comprehensive support from the moment they place an order.

Depending on the customer’s requirements, cargo-partner’s Purchase Order Management Service covers all areas of order and supplier management – from communication with suppliers and intelligent planning of group transports to quantity, and quality control as well as data and document management.

In doing so, the logistics provider takes over the entire follow-up with suppliers to ensure that the agreed delivery dates and order quantities are met. If a particular delivery is delayed or the quantity changes, cargo-partner is able to adjust the transportation plan, depending on the agreement with the customer, and thus find the most cost-effective solution in every situation.

The cargo-partner group uses the SPOTworx supply chain management platform SPOT for this purpose. The cloud-based platform offers customers and employees of the logistics provider full transparency and easy communication. SPOT supports supplier management with automatic reminders and notifications to eliminate “blind spots” in communication.

cargo-partner has been using the SPOT platform for transport management since the year 2000. The company offers end-to-end shipment tracking, easy communication and document management, as well as comprehensive reporting options to its customers. The Purchase Order Management SPOT module enables to use these features also for purchasing and production.
