20 of the new TransANT platform wagons have been produced so far. Now the first test runs are carried out under real conditions with the aim of putting the vehicles through their paces before delivery. Bernegger GmbH will put the new platform wagon through its paces.

The family business, which specialises in raw materials, the construction industry and environmental technology, is the first customer to be able to use TransANT. Heimo Gruber, terminal manager at Spital am Pyhrn, is all the more pleased to be the first to be able to travel with the newly produced innovative wagon material.

The 40ft platform wagon loaded with 20ft open top containers is now being used for one of Bernegger’s transports. Until the beginning of December, they will test loading and unloading processes as well as the use of containers loaded with building materials such as stones, gravel and excavated material. Bernegger transports 600,000 tonnes of raw materials a year by rail, which are extracted from lime and dolomite mines as well as from gravel and ballast plants.

The Bernegger group headquartered in Molln, Upper Austria, and 19 locations is specialising in the operation of gravel plants. Their customers come from the construction industry, raw material industry and environmental technology. The company has about 800 employees and operates a fleet of more than 1,000 construction machines and trucks.
