Wenzel Logistics launches second intermodal service from Graz

Wenzel Logistics based in Unterpremstätten, Styria, will launch an intermodal block train between the Cargo Center Graz (CCG) and Frankfurt am Main in early 2016. The new route will be operated daily. DB Schenker Rail will provide the traction services for the train (WAB, containers and semitrailers).
In terms of marketing the train, company owner Norbert Wenzel has an eye on the greater Frankfurt area, but also the Benelux countries. His company has been operating an intermodal train between Neuss and Graz for eleven years.
Like with the train service to Neuss, Wenzel Logistics intends to shift 15,000 truck journeys per year to the railway with the train service to Frankfurt. Against the background of stricter environmental regulations for shippers, CEO Norbert  Wenzel sees an increased demand for intermodal transport, but taking into respect that combined transport must not be more expensive than trucking.
