Change in the management board of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Europe: since February 1, Mag. Helmut Schweighofer (47) is the new CEO of Schenker & CO AG, based in Vienna. His predecessor Kurt Leidinger (52) moved to Germany, where he took over the position of the new CEO, managing the Schenker Deutschland AG.
Born in Vorarlberg, Helmut Schweighofer has a degree in international business administration and started his career with DB Schenker more than 20 years ago. Since 2013 he has been a Member of the Management Board, lately in charge of overland transport. Previously he had been authorised signatory at the location in Röthis (Vorarlberg) and as Regional Head he had been in charge of business development in Bulgaria.
The new CEO Helmut Schweighofer sees his main tasks “in positioning DB Schenker as a quality leader on the long term and in increasing the market share“, as he announced in his speech on his appointment.
DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Europe is now headed by a team of four, namely Mag. Helmut Schweighofer (CEO, overland transport including railway), Michael Meyer (finances and accounting, controlling, legal/insurance/risk management, purchasing), Christian Hein (Air Freight, Fairs) and Mag. Alexander Winter (Ocean Freight, Contract Logistics/SCM).
