The slot-booking process will be introduced at the Port of Hamburg on 29 November 2017. All HHLA container terminals will be handling trucks that have booked a valid slot for their transports only. Pre-announcement of a truck visit is required for this.
Haulage companies and terminal operators will be more closely linked through the slot-booking process. Both sides will benefit from increased planning capabilities, and by coordinating capacities, bottlenecks can be avoided. With this process, the efficiency of truck handling at the Port of Hamburg will be guaranteed for the long term.
