Port of Hamburg: 297,000 TEU in traffic with Austria

 

On 21 February 2018, the Port of Vienna, together with its longstanding partner the Port of Hamburg, Germany’s largest seaport and one of the most important logistics hubs in Europe, welcomed to an information evening in the Hafen Lounge. At the event, the guests were informed about the company developments in the Port of Hamburg.

Angela Titzrath, CEO of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, gave a keynote speech on HHLA as the motor of digital transformation in the Port of Hamburg. Among other things, information was provided on the channel adjustment of the Elbe and the potential of digitization for the transport industry.

The briefing by Angela Titzrath was preceded by one of Alexander Till, head of the Representative Office Vienna of Hafen Hamburg Marketing. According to this, Germany’s largest seaport registered a slight increase in Austrian volume in the Container segment to 297,000 TEU.

The information evening was attended by more than 60 participants from well-known companies in the industrial, logistics and shipping industry. After the speeches, a lively discussion on the topic took place and finally the guests took the opportunity for the exchange among experts and networking.
