The train offers a new solution for tank cars and combined transport to and from Bavaria

New “mixed train” operates between Burghausen and Ludwigshafen

DB Cargo BTT, DB Cargo’s chemicals and dangerous goods logistics provider, is offering a new combined transport product between Ludwigshafen and Burghausen. The “mixed train” with three weekly departures combines a combined transport and a tank car segment.

With the new concept, DB Cargo particularly appeals to forwarding and transport companies wishing to transport box containers, tank containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers to and from Ludwighafen. In addition, the Ludwigshafen gateway terminal is connected to a multitude of other national and international destinations, such as Spain, France or the Netherlands. As for the rail tanker traffic, the combination with the combined transport train offers significantly better runtime and quality as well as reliability compared to the previous shipment in single wagon traffic.

Towards Bavaria, the tank cars are joined in Ludwigshafen and then run to Mühldorf. In Mühldorf, the tank cars are again separated from the combined transport segment and then go to several receiving stations. In the opposite direction, the tank cars are attached to the combined transport train in Mühldorf.

DB Cargo BTT is a leading European integrated logistics services provider for chemicals and hazardous goods. As an independent subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn and sister company of DB Cargo, DB Cargo BTT provides multimodal solutions for chemicals and mineral oil, based on DB Cargo’s rail transport services.

In addition to rail solutions, their European and international network offers multimodal transport in collaboration with various international partners. They provide container logistics, tank wagon management and a wide range of transport, equipment and consulting services to get various products on the rails.

With some 130 employees, their own fleet of approximately 500 tank containers and approximately 950 tank wagons, customers are offered European one-stop shop transport solutions and logistics plans.
