LGI wins Panasonic Europe as a new customer

LGI Logistics Group International GmbH has won another major customer. Starting in the summer of 2018, it will control parts of European distribution for many Panasonic products, especially in consumer electronics, as the company announces in a press release.

“LGI offers a one stop shop logistics approach focused on our needs, enabling us to serve our own customers with a high quality and reliable service,” says Werner Graf, Panasonic Europe’s Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Starting in the summer of 2018, LGI will take over logistics from the previous service provider with around 130 employees at 50,000 m² at their location in the Erfurt logistics center, mainly for the consumer electronics products Panasonic sells in Europe. Also a team in Hamburg, which takes care of administrative processes such as customs or transport control, will be part of the LGI and Panasonic for the future. The product range includes more than 4,000 articles, from hair clippers and razors to televisions and heat pumps.

In addition, LGI provides additional services such as set-up, packaging, quality control or rework. Since the beginning of November 2017, transports for Panasonic have been carried out on individual routes.

Established in 1995 as HP, LGI, with more than 4,500 employees at more than 45 locations in Europe, USA and Russia, is one of the leading European contract logistics companies with renowned customers in the automotive, electronics, fashion & lifestyle, healthcare & life science and industrial sectors. LGI is part of the Swedish Elanders Group, a global provider of supply chain management, print & packaging and e-commerce.
