LGI to establish fleet in Hungary for Daimler

Since May 2, the new Hungarian fleet carries vehicle components from Böblingen to Kecskemét on behalf of Daimler, returning also empty goods on the way back. So far, LGI Logistics Group International handled the transport order of its automotive customer with its Polish fleet. The 16 new tractor units and 32 trailers bring the company closer to the customer.

“We are also planning to intensify operations with our Hungarian fleet in Southeastern Europe“, says Bernhard Jung, Freight Solutions Manager. The new Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor vehicles for Hungary are equipped with state-of-the-art drive technology and meet the EURO 6 standard. They consume up to 7 percent less fuel, resulting also in lower CO2 emissions compared with their predecessors the EURO 5.

The new Hungarian fleet is based at LGI in Páty from where it is managed. LGI has been handling logistics for some automotive and industrial customers at this site close to Budapest since 2005.

Formed by Hewlett-Packard Germany in 1995, LGI Logistics Group International GmbH is a leading European contract logistics provider and has currently about 4,000 employees at more than 45 locations in Europe, the U.S. and Russia. 2015 sales amounted to about 430 million.
