The port of Linz is being expanded. In line with this, Linz Service GmbH has commissioned Künz GmbH, based in Hard in Vorarlberg, with the delivery of a further container gantry crane.
The 120,000 m² area of Hafen Linz is an important gate for international freight traffic. To ensure continued optimal conditions for combined road/water/rail transport, the terminal will be expanded and modernised by 2021. An important part of this will be a second container crane, commissioned by Künz GmbH.
The second Gantry Crane with a double-sided cantilever and a slewing trolley will span two adjoined barges, four railway tracks, a truck – loading and driving lane each, a working area for mobile handling equipment as well as a storage area. The telescopic Piggy-Back Spreader will be able to stack containers of each type 1 over 5 over a width of 40 m.
