Gebrüder Weiss Maria Lanzendorf is testing e-trucks in everyday life in Greater Vienna. It is primarily about the electrification of urban distribution, where zero emissions and low noise pollution play an important role. The findings of the “orange test phase” will then be incorporated into the further development stages of the vehicles.

“Creating sustainable supply chains through intelligent logistics solutions is one of Gebrüder Weiss’ core goals. With the block train “Orange-Combi-Cargo”, the company has established an environmentally friendly traffic solution. Apart from that, their own wind farm which has been running for seven years, enabled the company to use energy from renewable sources.

In this context, the topic of electromobility fits perfectly into their sustainability strategy. “Using the e-truck in Greater Vienna, we want to gain experience in order to make the last mile CO2-neutral for our customers in the future,” says Jürgen Bauer, Member of the Executive Board.
