Freight forwarders in Pakistan to call off  strike

Freight Forwarders’ Industry leaders Mr. Babar Badat, Mr. Muhammad Nadeem Khan, Mr. Muhammad Yousuf, Mr. Asim Saeed Khan, Chairman PIFFA (Pakistan International Freight Forwarders Association), and Mr. Farrukh Iqbal, Chairman ACAAP (Air Cargo Agents Association of Pakistan), held a meeting on September 3, 2015 in Islamabad with Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Chairman FBR (Federal Board of Revenue) and Senator Haroon Akhtar Khan, Prime Ministers’ Advisor on  Revenue on imposition of 8% minimum tax.
After discussion it was decided to form  a Committee to resolve the issue in a week time. On Government assurances, PIFFA and ACAAP announced to call off strike and resume normal business activities with immediate effect.
Chairman PIFFA, ACAAP and Executive Committees are thankful to Members, Container Freight Stations, Terminals, Shipping Lines, Airlines, FPCCI,  KCCI, SCCI, LCCI and Associations of Service Providers for their resolute support and display of unity for the just cause. The goal is not yet achieved and this demands total solidarity amongst us all.
