The Austrian logistics industry is, like other industries, going through a period of serious changes. The topics of Industry 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 are all the rage.
In order to acquire the necessary skills, the Supply Chain Management department of Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik, the Austrian forwarding and logistics association headed by DI Peter Umundum (Board Austrian Post) has launched a high level training for Logistics 4.0. Together with the logistics expert Prof. Sebastian Kummer from the Vienna University of Economics, they elaborated a specific program and presented it during a weekend seminar.
“Our goal is to help our industry to benefit from the opportunities of this electronic revolution. We therefore need managers with the additional expertise for Logistics 4.0,” said Peter Umundum.
With this training tool Sebastian Kummer wants to prepare logistics companies the best possible way for the challenges ahead. “Together with the association we succeeded in developing a hands-on Logistics 4.0 Management Certificate, involving senior lecturers. These developments come fast, and who wants to be successful must now gain knowledge,” the expert recommends.
