DB Schenker “tracks“ the IRONMAN in Carinthia

More than 100 DB Schenker employees from all over Austria took care of the supply for 3,300 athletes from more than 63 countries at the IRONMAN on the 1st of July in Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia. Since the event was held the first time in 1998, athletes and organisers have been relying on the know-how and expertise of the logistics experts of DB Schenker for 20 years now.

The DB Schenker team will distribute self-supply bags to the participants that have been individually put together by the athletes for the competition and given to DB Schenker in advance. An electronic tracking system will transmit the triathletes’ positions to the DB Schenker team so that the individual supply bags can be passed on to the athletes when they pass by. DB Schenker is the only company worldwide to offer such a service.
