Changed acceptance of TIR carnets in Belarus

The Belarusian customs authorities do no longer accept TIR carnets whose customs and tax duties exceed the liability limit of EUR 60,000. This was being done with regard to Article 201.1 of the CCCU / customs union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, as the international working group of road hauliers in Austria (AISÖ) learned from the IRU.

When declining a TIR carnet, the customs authorities, according to the IRU, shall enter the following to the field “For official use” on page 1 and 2: “Refused with reference to Article 216.5 of the CCCU”.
