Change in the management board of DHL Global Forwarding Austria

After seven years as Managing Director of DHL Global Forwarding Austria, Ronald Friedreich (42) moves on to the Europe region and becomes Head of Air Freight, DGF Europe. In his new position he will drive the strategic development of the air freight segment in Europe, as the logistics group DHL announced on Thursday.

Hermann Filz (56) CEO Southern Europe, was appointed as the new Managing Director DHL Global Forwarding, the air and sea freight division of the group, and will now also be in charge of DHL Global Forwarding Austria.
Ronald Friedreich started his career with DHL Global Forwarding Austria in 2002 and was holding several functions before he was appointed Managing Director Austria in 2008. Ronald Friedreich has 25 years of logistic experience and has entrepreneurial spirit and a strong customer orientation. He was trained in Logistics Management at the European Logistics Association/Austrian federal Logistics Association and holds an MBA degree from the Danube University in Krems.

Hermann Filz started his career with DPDHL in the customer service function with Cargoplan in 1979. He became the Branch Manager for Vienna in 1986 and was promoted into the role of Managing Director for Austria in 1992, when he led seven offices and 100 employees. During the merger with Danzas/DHL in 2002, he remained as Country Manager for Austria.

Four years later, Hermann Filz was appointed as Subregional Head Eastern Europe with DHL Global Forwarding. In September 2015 he took over the position of the CEO DHL Global Forwarding Southern Europe and, in addition to Austria, where he is holding the position of the Managing Director, is in charge of Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Israel, Spain and Portugal.
