Zeno D’Agostino, President of the Trieste Port Authority (Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Orientale) was honoured for his contribution to the development of the port. He was awarded the Golden San Giusto Prize 2019 in a ceremony held in the Town Hall in Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia on 12th December.
The event was held for the 53rd time and was organised jointly with the journalists’ association Assostampa del Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Municipality of Trieste and the CrTrieste Foundation. The prize for Zeno D’Agostino was awarded on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Port of Trieste in recognition of “the personal contribution made to the development of the port and thus to the future of Trieste: a development made up of important and constantly growing figures”.
“I dedicate this prize to my family and Trieste, a city that I hope I have been able to give a lot to, and that has given me a lot in return, both professionally and personally. Trieste honours me with this prestigious recognition, which shows that the heart of this city has become part of my life”, with these words the President of the Port accepted the award.
