On 25th June 2019 a train derailment has occurred on the Koper – Divača railway line. All railway traffic on the mentioned section is currently stopped.
The transport restriction is in place for the stations Koper Luka and Koper Tovorna for inland transports, export and import across all border crossings, for all types of shipments.
“Given the scale of the accident we expect the event will impact the train arrivals/departures from/to the Port of Koper. Slovenian Railways are currently repairing the damaged section of the railway and will try to re-open the line within 3 days,” states Port of Koper.
Luka Koper d. d. is currently adapting particular port operations in order to minimize the impact of the railway blocking. Truck loadings/unloadings will be possible also outside working hours and overnight, with prior arrangements.
