With TransFER Vienna-Scandinavia, the Rail Cargo Group is launching a rail connection with a frequency of up to four times a week between Vienna and the northern European metropolises. This offers the full range of environmentally friendly transport services for conventional rail freight traffic between Austria and Scandinavia.

With the new TransFER Vienna-Scandinavia, RCG is creating a direct connection to the Scandinavian region. The non-stop rail services are operated from the central transfer station in Vienna to Rostock and the Baltic Sea. After the goods have been transferred to the ferry, a ferry takes the goods twice a day to Trelleborg. From there, the goods are distributed in single wagonload traffic for the entire Scandinavian region. The ferry connection and the redistribution are handled by the partner Green Cargo.

Trelleborg is the southernmost city in Sweden and therefore also the southernmost port. It is a central transhipment point between ship and rail. The port of Trelleborg is considered a gateway between Scandinavia and Central Europe.
