The Fercam transport and logistics company can look back on a successful financial year. Turnover rose 12.5 per cent to a record level of close to EUR 600 million in 2015, as informs the management board of the company based in Bolzano.
The up in turnover was mainly resulting from the growth in the transport segment. Despite a fierce competition in this segment, the company had been able to increase its turnover by about 11 per cent, reports Hannes Baumgartner. As to the second key business, logistics, a growth of 14 per cent compared with 2014 was recorded.
The company has today 1,690 employees, and is expecting further business growth. According to their 2020 strategy, Fercam aims to achieve the EUR 1 billion-mark in sales in the coming years.
About EUR 50 million are earmarked for investments to implement the development plan. Within the next two years, new logistics facilities shall be set up on a total surface of 80.000 m². The first construction projects are due to start shortly in Verona and Bologna.
