Height-adjustable semi-trailers can be used on a wide variety of railway lines

30 new Kögel Cargo Rails with Transmec Group

The Italian Transmec Group is expanding its vehicle fleet, consisting of 150 Kögel trailers, by adding 30 new Kögel Cargo Rail with FlexiUse body and RoRo equipment. These new semi-trailers allow flexible deployment by road, rail and ship. Thanks to its large adjustment range, the body of the semi-trailers can be easily adapted to the most varied of transport tasks.

Another highlight of these curtain-sider trucks without drop sides is the new double codification. As a result, the trailers can solve even more transport tasks, but also save time and money for Transmec, because they are easy and simple to use on a great variety of railway lines. Additional special equipment includes a steel light carrier, an ADR adapter box, a fire extinguisher and more.

The body of the Transmec semi-trailers includes 12 front settings, each adjustable by 25 mm, and four rear settings, each adjustable by 50 mm. This means that the body heights can be independently adjusted by 300 mm at the front and 200 mm at the rear. This allows everyday goods transport with an internal height of 2,700 mm to 2,800 mm at the front and 2,600 mm to 2,800 mm at the rear. The closing support bow on the roof ensures that the aluminium back wall portal double door with optimised door seal, which is a standard fitting for the Cargo with FlexiUse body, is adjusted to the respective body height.

If required, trailers for unaccompanied boat and ferry transport feature optional RoRo equipment with an 8 mm thick closed slide plate, four pairs of heavy-duty lashing rings with 12,000 kilograms of test force as well as signage in accordance with DIN EN 29367-2. The floor load-bearing capacity is designed to withstand high fork-lift axle loads of up to 8,000 kilograms.

For optimal load-securing, the VarioFix perforated steel external frame is equipped with 13 pairs of lashing rings, each ring affording 2,000 kg of tensile force. 16 pairs of lashing straps are securely pre-installed on the external frame.

The Transmec Group from the Italian province of Modena has been a successful transport, forwarding and logistics company for 160 years. Today, the Transmec Group consists of 17 companies and has around 38 branches worldwide.
