Union Tank Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA) has expanded its service portfolio: With the new online platform UTA Ferry, the mobility expert has integrated a ferry service with around 750 connections in more than 50 countries into its offer.

This allows to book in advance ferry tickets for more than 40 ferry companies before starting the tour and purchase them for a reduced price using the UTA card. The ferry portal was developed in collaboration with Freightlink, a British freight ferry operator that is one of Europe’s leading online providers of inexpensive ferry tickets.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our customers in Europe such an extensive network of ferry services,” explains Volker Huber, CEO at UTA.With UTA Ferry, we have expanded our offer from 50 to 750 ferry services, covering most European ferry operators and routes.”

These include for example connections from Calais (France) to Dover (England), from Hoek van Holland (Netherlands) to Harwich (England) or from Rostock (Germany) to Gedser (Denmark). This not only saves customers time and money, but also brings maximum flexibility and planning security.

Thanks to the new service, the crossings can be booked 24 hours a day, seven days a week, eliminating the need to wait for ticket purchases on site and guarantee a place on the ferry. For selected routes, open tickets without a fixed departure time will also be available. Changes or cancellations are free of charge.

UTA Ferry is available in ten languages and can be reached in the exclusive area of the mobility provider. With a booking, the relevant data is delivered in the background, giving customers a seamless, all-in-one experience. The same applies to the discounted ferry connections, which are settled as usual with the UTA invoice.

“With UTA Ferry, forwarding companies and transport companies are just as efficient on the water as they are on the road,” says Volker Huber. As a result, UTA has come one step closer to the goal of offering holistic mobility solutions to customers in Europe.
