Trucks and semi-trailers in national / international long-distance traffic are prohibited from using the route from now on

Upper Austria: Driving ban for trucks on the B166 Pass Gschütt road

By ordinance of 12 July 2018, the district authority Gmunden has ordered a driving ban for HGVs on an approximately 18-kilometer section of the B 166 Pass Gschütt road. As reported by the assocation “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Internationaler Straßenverkehrsunternehmer Österreichs (AISÖ)”, trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 3.5 tonnes must not drive on the B166 between kilometer 32,769 (border Pass Gschütt) and kilometer 50,700 (junction B 166 / B 145) in both directions, according to signposts since August 1, 2018.

This excludes, among others rides in the destination and source traffic to the following municipalities:

Upper Austria: Bad Goisern/Lake Hallstatt, Bad Ischl, Ebensee / Lake Traunsee, Gosau, Hallstatt, Obertraun, St. Wolfgang i.S., , Steinbach am Attersee, Traunkirchen

Salzburg: Abtenau, Annaberg-Lungötz, Ebenau, Faistenau, Fuschl am See, Golling, Hintersee, Hof bei Salzburg, Hüttau, Rußbach am Pass Gschütt, St. Gilgen, St. Martin am Tennengebirge, Scheffau, Strobl

Styria: Altaussee, Bad Aussee, Bad Mitterndorf, Grundlsee, Stainach-Pürgg

Further exceptions are:

-) Vehicles for Road Service, Federal Armed Forces, Roadside Assistance, Towing, Public Security, and Emergency Vehicles.

-) Driving school vehicles as part of the training and examination of applicants for a driving license.
