Universal Transport goes to Straubing through company acquisition

From 2016 Ivanica Spedition für Spezialtransporte GmbH, Straubing, will be a company of Universal Transport. After 18 years, Klaus Ivanica transfers his enterprise to the heavy lift logistics company from Paderborn. He will keep his position of the Managing Director of the company for one more year, and remain available in an advisory capacity afterwards.
The Ivanica forwarding company has been organising ship transports for oversized loads on the Danube for 18 years. The focus was on transportation of large-volume and heavy agricultural machines, construction machines and plant engineering systems across all European countries. To provide a smooth service, they operated a designated terminal in the Danube port of Straubing, including a 2,000 m² open warehouse located directly at the RoRo ramp. Thus the combination of road transport – port handling – inland shipping provides an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to transport oversized cargo.
