Terminal Service Austria investing in Upper Styria

In St. Michael, Upper Styria Terminal Service Austria is building a EUR 2.8 million workshop facility for repair and maintenance of containers. This investment is based on a 20 years cooperation agreement with Innofreight forwarding, whose innovative cargo transport and logistics systems require professional maintenance. Apart from the transportations on behalf of Innofreight, the associated services shall also attract one or another intermodal transport in this region.

Terminal Service Austria was formed in 2013 through spin-off from Rail Cargo Austria AG and transfer to ÖBB Infrastruktur AG. Since then the cargo volume has increased 11 percent, from 660,000 ITE (UKV and rolling road) in 2013, to 730.000 ITE in 2015. Within two years time, the benchmark of 800,000 ITE shall be surpassed, said Andreas Fuchs, Division Manager.

With 240 employees at eight locations, Terminal Service Austria is operating as a neutral provider of cargo throughput and many more terminal services.

N° 20/2016 of the Austrian transport magazine ÖVZ features a detailed report on Terminal Service Austria.
