On October 15, DLH Austria broke ground at the Industrial Campus Vienna East for the expansion of Austria’s largest logistics park. By November 2020, two additional halls with a total area of around 14,000 m² will be built at the Enzersdorf an der Fischa site. Another 7,000 m² object is also part of this phase.
Fixed tenants have already been found for two new buildings. As of July 2020, Hornbach Baumarkt AG operates a cross-dock warehouse in one building as a replacement for the currently leased 5,700 m² hall. The second property is being acquired by the Rudolph Logistik Group, which is entering the Austrian market for the first time with its own asset.
“Austria has a very special meaning for us,” said Dr. Torsten Rudolph, Managing Director of the German family business and contract logistics specialist, at the groundbreaking ceremony. “It has become a story of success for us in less than two years. ”
The Rudolph Logistik Group currently employs 30 people in Austria in the cross-dock warehouse of Hornbach Baumarkt AG. This workforce will double in late autumn 2020 to around 60 people.
“Due to the excellent location to the center of Vienna and the airport as well as an individual construction, we are particularly pleased that we were able to rent two halls before the start of construction,” said Christian Vogt, Managing Director DHL Real Estate Austria, at the groundbreaking ceremony. All halls will be built in state-of-the-art construction and certified to DGNB Gold status to meet the increasingly important issues of sustainability and climate protection.
