The Siemens technology enterprise has awarded a major part of its transport services related to Austria to DB Schenker in Austria. The logistics provider was able to win a pan-European tender against a great number of national and international competitors. The relevant agreement was recently signed by Mag. Alexander Winter, Member of the Management Board of DB Schenker in Austria and Southeastern Euope, and by Mag. Dr. Peter Hinteregger, Head of Supply Chain Management Region EMEA Siemens AG Austria, in Vienna.
The services of DB Schenker include all exportations and importations from and to Austria and will affect all units and divisions of Siemens. Industrial goods ranging from rail parts, transformers, special parts from the automobile industry and building technology to healthcare goods will be accepted for transport.
DB Schenker will be in charge for all land transportations ranging from 1.5 loading metres to full truck loads across Europe. Also special transportations will be provided, to meet the requirements of Siemens.
In order to guarantee a gapless flow of communication, DB Schenker has established a designated communication platform for the Siemens employees, allowing for simple and fast communication with the team of DB Schenker. The volume of the order is a single-digit euro amount.
