Schwarzmüller opens 2,500 m² central warehouse in Linz

The Schwarzmüller group rearranges its parts management and moves its central warehouse from the headquarters in Freinberg near Schärding to Linz, Upper Austria.

With a total warehouse space of 2,500 m² and 2,000 pallet slots, the new location in Linz offers the conditions to permanently provide about 6,000 parts and retail goods for production, repair and service. At the same time the service for customers and the three own production sites will be improved, said Roland Hartwig, CEO Schwarzmüller Gruppe, earlier this month at the headquarters in Freinberg.

The operator of the new location close to the port of Linz is Gebrüder Weiss. The employees of the logistics specialist will be in charge of goods income, storage and order processing. At the new warehouse, parts for the own production will be stored. They are retrieved from the plants in Freinberg, Budapest and Zebrak near Prague, and delivered just-in-time to the production. The exception are large parts, which will still be stored at the production sites.

From Linz the Schwarzmüller plants and the about 20 own locations will be supplied, as well as 350 service partners in Europe and all customers of the Schwarzmüller group in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe.

The Schwarzmüller Group is one of Europe’s largest suppliers of drawn commercial vehicles and is located in 19 countries, mainly in Central, Southeast and Eastern Europe. The company is considered the specialist for customised transportation solutions based on it more than 140 years of know-how. The most important sectors that use Schwarzmüller commercial vehicles are long-haul transportation as well as the construction, petroleum, food and timber industries.
