Samskip enhances rail services between Norway and Europe

The 140.000 sqm state-of-the-art Samskip Multimodal Rail Terminal in Duisburg (Germany) already handles a substantial number of rail shuttles to and from Scandinavia. 42 departures a week facilitate fast transits (A-C) from the Duisburg region via Sweden into Norway, based on a fully-controlled rail network.
From here, using a large fleet of 45ft containers, 13.6m (Mega) trailers and reefers, fast connections can be made by road to Germany and Benelux. In addition, France and Spain, as well as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy and Turkey are connected by rail and shortsea.
Besides door-door services, Samskip’s terminal-to-terminal services offer customers the possibility to access Samskip’s extensive shipping network using their own equipment.
“The multimodal service allow cargo to be transported in a sustainable manner, while guaranteeing a fast lead time, high payload, and cost-efficient pricing”, Samskip announces.
