Salzburg Airport reports positive freight figures for 2015

Despite the global challenges, 2015 was a good year for the Salzburg airport. This positive balance sheet was revealed on June 7 by Dr. Christian Stöckl, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Vice Governor, and the two managers of the airport Roland Hermann and Mag. Karlheinz Bohl at a press conference for the results of the 2015 financial year.

Both, airfreight volume (+ 6.2% to 213.4 tonnes) as well as airfreight trucking (+ 11% to 11,067 tonnes) showed a noticeable uptrend compared to the previous year. The number of passengers rose by 0.5 percent to 1.83 million passengers.

With a turnover of EUR 62.49 million, the previous year’s result was exceeded by 2.2 percent. The operating result (EBIT) amounting to EUR 6.732 million, decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the previous year. The annual net profit of EUR 5.2 million had increased by 3.6 percent compared to 2014.

For Salzburg’s industry, tourism and especially for the preservation of more than 1,500 jobs at the airport, more than EUR 9 million have been invested during the past fiscal year.
