RZD Logistics and DB Cargo to cooperate on the China axis

JSC RZD Logistics, the largest multimodal logistics operator in the CIS and Baltic countries, and DB Cargo AG, one of the world’s largest logistics companies, agreed on the development of cooperation in promotion of a joint multimodal container service on the markets of China and Europe. CEO of RZD Logistics, Viacheslav Valentik, and CEO of DB Cargo Russija, Uwe Leuschner, signed the document in the framework of 23rd International Exhibition for Transport and Logistics Services and Technologies in Moscow.

The cooperation oversees the organization of multimodal service of cargo expedited delivery across the route China – ports of Kaliningrad region – terminals of Europe and in the opposite direction. According to the achieved agreement, RZD Logistics will be responsible for the formation of container trains going from the border points with China to the ports of Kaliningrad region.

DB Cargo AG, in its turn, will organize the transportation of containers across the route Kaliningrad region – port Rostock (Germany) and will also provide the terminal processing of container cargo, including their further delivery across the European terminal system. At the first stage of cooperation the parties will evaluate the possibility of expedited delivery of container cargo across the route China – Mongolia – port Baltiysk – port Rostock – terminals of Germany.

“Cooperation with the German company DB Cargo AG, which associates with quality and reliability of shipments across the world, will help us to develop and offer the market a new perspective logistics solution. Working through the North-West sea gates will allow us to diversify transit cargo traffic. At the moment we expect the potential traffic across the jointly developed route to be not less than 100 000 TEU per year”, – commented CEO of RZD Logistics Viacheslav Valentik after the ceremony.
