Rail operator Metrans expands offer from Linz Bild: Metrans

European intermodal service provider Metrans is on the way to build up its Linz connections. Therefore the successful export connection with port of Koper, import connection with northern ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven as of 13.December 2019 will be expanded with an export train connection from terminal Linz to the northern ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven.

With the goal to successfully cover all the varying customer requests, the newly established export connection will be operated in two different variations:

-) 1x per week a direct connection from terminal Linz to the port of Hamburg

-) 2x per week a connection from terminal Linz to port of Hamburg and Bremerhaven via Metrans HUB system

“With this setup we aim to be able to offer viable solution to both the urgent shipments with the direct train, as well as a solution for the less urgent shipments with a possibility of 10 days of free storage on Metrans terminals,” the company announces.  Its HUB system system therefore offers a possibility to deliver the containers to the ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven on a specific requested day, avoiding unnecessary additional cost.
