Rail Cargo Group: Several replacements on top management

With immediate effect the Rail Cargo Group’s board consists of two board members only. As of January 1st 2016, the dual top of the ÖBB cargo division is formed by Erik Regter and Ferdinand Schmidt. Reinhard Bamberger and Georg Kasperkovitz resigned from their mandates of the Rail Cargo Austria AG with effect from December 31st, 2015.

In the course of these changes in the management, also the departmental responsibility was rearranged as of January 1st 2016. In addition to his operator tasks, Erik Regter, who has been working for five years in the group, will also assume financial tasks within the Rail Cargo Group.

Ferdinand Schmidt will be in charge of sales and production.

Within the field of rail freight logistics, Bernhard Hoffmann supports the management team of the Rail Cargo Group as managing director of Rail Cargo Logistics – Germany for the ongoing expansion on the German market. Klaus Zwinz and Osman Erol conduct the business of Rail Cargo Logistics – Austria GmbH (previously Express-Interfracht) with subsidiaries in 18 countries throughout Europe. Reinhold Pölzl takes over as business unit manager for the industries mineral oil, agricultural, chemicals, environmental additionally to the management agenda of the Rail Cargo Logistics GmbH.

For the rail business operator, Gerhard Kratochwil will be, besides Max Kindler, the second managing director of Rail Cargo Operator – Austria GmbH for the further intensification of the high-frequent shuttle services in Europe.

Furthermore, replacements were announced for the ÖBB subsidiaries Technische Services GmbH, European Contract Logistics, Rail Cargo Logistics – Germany and the recently established ÖBB-Fernbus GmbH:

-) As of May 1st, 2016, Dr. Mathias Moser will be the second Managing Director of Technische Services GmbH. Together with Dipl. Ing. Andreas Zwerger he will drive the strategic development of the company. Moser had been holding senior positions, among others as Managing Director of Global Logistics within the internationally operating Enercon Group, one of the leading suppliers of wind power plants.

-) Horst Seidl, previously authorised signatory of the company, takes over the management of European Contract Logistics effective January 1st, 2016.

-) Bernhard Hoffmann is the new Managing Director of Rail Cargo Logistics – Germany. He has gained in-depth experience during his activities with DB Schenker, Transpetrol GmbH and as Sales Manager with VTG Rail Logistics GmbH recently.

-) Tobias Hann was appointed Managing Director of ÖBB-Fernbus GmbH. He has been working as company consultant with the Boston Consulting Group recently.
