On April 10, 2019, the logistics group celebrated the official launch of its 30th branch in Schüttorf. The ceremonial opening of the new branch brought together many distinguished guests from the world of politics, science and business, as well as customers. During the opening ceremony, Raben Germany presented to its customers and guests a modern forwarding facility in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim. The Schüttorf depot was acquired by Raben Group in September 2018 from TGL TransportLogistik.

“Thanks to the branch in the south-western part of Lower Saxony, we managed to integrate a modern cross-docking facility with our independent groupage network, which we successfully launched in January 2018.” – says Ewald Raben, CEO Raben Group. “The immediate proximity of the A 30 and A 31 junctions and the Lotte/Osnabrück junction allows our customers to reach their destination quickly. Various types of goods are delivered on a daily basis from Schüttorf, the entire Münsterland region and the German regions of Osnabrück, Weser-Ems and the Dutch region of Twente.”- adds Andreas Mümken, Branch Manager, Raben Trans European Germany.

“Thanks to our strong presence in Eastern Europe, we also send shipments from the local market to Poland and to many other European countries. To this end, we offer several connections a week,” says Andreas Mümken. Transports to the UK also start from Schüttorf so Brexit was one of the topics mentioned at the meeting. Professor Hermann Witte of the University of Osnabrück spoke about the challenges and opportunities of profitable trade with the UK.
