Opening a branch in Bulgaria, Raben Group added a 13th market to its map of Europe. The company has now more than 130 depots in the following countries: Czech Republic, Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Italy and in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria is one of Eastern Europe’s booming economies. The country links the east and the southwest of Europe. Trade with other EU countries accounts for 69 percent of Bulgaria’s exports. 15 percent of Bulgaria’s exports go to Germany, 9 percent to Italy, 9 percent to Romania and 8 percent to Turkey. 64 percent of imports come from EU member states; 12 percent from Germany, 8 percent from Italy and 7 percent from Romania.

The location in Bulgaria builds a bridge to the southeast of Europe. “Turkey, Greece and the Balkans have strong trade relations with Bulgaria, which will help us in our future business development,” says Tomasz Nieżwicki, Director of the Raben Group’s CEE region. “Since November we have been operating the international Hub in Sofia and maintain direct, daily connections to a network of six depots throughout the country, employing a total of 200 qualified staff”.

Raben Logistics Bulgaria plans to expand its business operations thorughout the country and offer high quality services in the field of national and international distribution (LTL, FTL). In addition, the company aims to develop important international connections from/to Germany, Romania, Italy, Poland or Hungary, where the group already has its own business units.
