Raben Germany’s own general cargo network shows its effect

About three months after the Raben Group launched its own general cargo network in Germany, the group and its customers can draw a positive balance. “Both the delivery quality as well as the punctuality and pick-up quality achieve better values compared to the previous year,” the logistics company states in a press release.

At present 42 locations of Raben Germany and its partners are integrated in the network. In about 400 to 500 departures, around 20,000 to 22,000 shipments are transported daily. About 95 per cent of this is direct traffic. Five per cent pass the national hub in Eisenach, Thuringia.

LG Electronics Germany GmbH is a long-standing international customer of Raben Germany, who noticeably feels the quality improvements since the conversion to their own network at the turn of the year 2017/18:

“We have definitely noticed a significant increase in performance and quality. Of course, as a customer, we are all the more pleased about this and we wish that the Raben Group will continue its performance at the same high level in the future,” says Frank Hecker, Senior Manager Supply Chain Management at LG Electronics Deutschland GmbH.

The evaluation after the first four months confirms that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are significantly higher than those of previous years. A total of 3,000 Raben employees in Germany are currently working to achieve their goals. “We are now able to control our shipments considerably better. The planned expansion of our capacities, enables us to accept further transport and logistics contracts in Germany in the future”, says Claus Wetzel, Managing Director of Raben Germany for national transport.

This summer Raben will complete the construction work at the Eisenach site. The company also wants to expand the logistics center in Gütersloh in the next few years and is looking for a suitable location. In addition, near the end of this year, a new logistics site near Fahrbinde will be put into operation.

“I am very satisfied with our continuous and sustainable growth in Germany. The initial reactions from our customers following the introduction of the independent network have also made me very optimistic that we are optimally implementing the economic goals of our customers,” says Ewald Raben, CEO of Raben Group.

Currently, more than 1,000 customers are connected to the company’s own platform myRaben, which enables users to query status as well as retrieve reports.
