Q Logistics: ÖBB puts majority share up for disposition

The ÖBB Group is looking for a partner for the activities in general cargo logistics. One is open for the cooperation with a new majority shareholder, said director-general Andreas Matthä in the club of the economics publishers.

The general cargo logistics/detailed logistics is today “more mail than train” explained the ÖBB head in his remarks. This represents a counterpoint to the national/international terminal – terminal long – haul traffic. Moreover, this is a highly competitive market segment.

The ÖBB are confident that they will find a new partner for general cargo logistics. It is one of the leading providers on the market, which makes Q Logistics interesting for international logistics companies. And, as Andreas Matthä added: “The bride is not that ugly and has a respectable market share.”

According to its own statements, Q Logistics is the leading Austrian logistics service provider for general cargo and warehousing with 17 sites, 270,000 m² storage and handling areas and around 1,000 employees. The Vienna-based company transports around 2.6 million national and international shipments a year.
