Professional driver qualification: More than 3,000 C95 driving tests passed in 2019

Significant thresholds for professional driver qualifications were exceeded for the first time in 2019. As for truck drivers, more than 3,000 passed the C95 driving test, while more than 1,000 bus drivers passed the D95 driving test (practical driving tests in driving schools), reports the Federal Transport and Traffic Division of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in its current “Transport Telegram”.

The Code 95 exam system has been applied for 10 years for new truck drivers working in commercial transport of goods or works transport (>3.5 t gvw), and for 11 years for bus drivers. Just under 50 percent of all persons who acquire the C-driving license also pass the C95 basic qualification exam. In the case of bus licences, the proportion of the subsequent D95 exam is just under 90 percent.
