Prestigious Award for Kommerzialrat A. Schneckenreither senior (90)

On the occasion of his 90th birthday, Alfred Schneckenreither senior was awarded the silver medal of the Upper Austrian Economic Chamber at the autumn festival at the Schneckenreither logistics park “all wels” for his life’s work. Kommerzialrat Johannes Hödlmayr, MBA (Division Chairman Transport & Traffic WKOÖ) and Deputy Director Dr. Hermann Pühringer paid homage to the family business and the industry.

“Always moving” – this is the personal motto of Alfred Schneckenreither sen .: “Not the big ones eat the little ones, but the fast ones the slow ones”. In the meantime, his sons, Kommerzialrat Alfred Schneckenreither and Mag. Wolfgang Schneckenreither, lead the medium-sized group, which was founded as a transport company in 1960 and has since then been permanently expanded.

Alfred Schneckenreither sen. Always entered market niches, when no one was expecting it. He passed this gift on to his sons, because to this day continual growth is more important than an expansion without regard for losses. As an institution and visionary, the 90-year-old founder of the company enjoys great health and is as enterprising as ever.

The international forwarding company Schneckenreither is a medium-sized provider of transport and logistics services with a focus on the areas of land transport (national / international) and warehouse logistics. Founded in 1970, the company manages over 75,000 m² of covered storage space at 13 locations in Austria and three branch offices abroad.

Currently, the Schneckenreither group of companies comprises several forwarding companies and transport companies with more than 400 employees. The own fleet consists of 160 trucks and around 100 interchangeable bridges. A group turnover of EUR 120 million was recorded in the 2016 financial year.
